Like you all know teaching and learning are moving to the online platform, from a physical classroom to your very own space!
At Anchored Education Online Schooling, one of the most asked questions from students are; How do I prepare for the exams?
Well, here are some study tips from an Educator’s (my) perspective.
1 Give yourself enough time to study
Make sure you don’t leave it to the last minute. Set up a timetable, write down how many exams you have (usually for each module) and on what days you are writing those exams. You may want to study more for certain subjects, depending on the content, so plan accordingly.
2 Take down your own notes
This will help you remembering the information better. Closer to the exams, use your notes to make flow charts and diagrams. This can be very helpful when you are revising. Do not forget to download worksheets. They assist with critical reflection of what you are busy learning.
3 When in doubt, ASK!
Ask for help if you don’t understand a concept. Do not hesitate to reach out to your online educators. Meet them face to face.
4 Practice previous worksheets
This is a very popular and important aspect when you are preparing for an assessment, test or exam. This will help you get use to the format or scope of possible questions and how certain concepts can be asked in the exams.
5 Be the teacher
Explain the study material and answers to your peers or family members. This will help you get a better understanding of areas where you need to focus or improve on.
6 Lastly, but most importantly
Remember to look after your mental, social, spritual and physical health, drink plenty of water that enhances the functioning of the brain.
7 Revise, revise, revise!
Good luck from all the educators at Anchored Education. We are all rooting for you.
